Boris Skalsky is a musician and founder of the band Dead Heart Bloom, whose latest LP Strange Waves was released in 2010.

He was also a founding member of the D.C. band Phaser and recently the bassist for former Smashing Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin's band Skysaw. In 2009 Boris released a solo record, First Songs.

Boris has written and performed for the concert stage. Premieres of his works include two string quartets, art songs, piano works, and an orchestral overture titled Memoriae.

His music has appeared in a number of films and broadcast TV shows, including The Shield on FX, NBC's Friday Night Lights, and FOX's Terminator series. Most recently, his music was used in independent film Friends With Kids.
